I must apologize for the tone of my last network transmission. To all of you who responded, I thank you for your concerns. I am slowly recovering from the injuries I sustained, as such my research has been delayed.

I have not missed the length of time a normal human body requires to heal from severe injury, this much is sure.

I...am surviving. The injuries will require at least a month longer to fully heal. Several broken ribs, sprains, numerous minor abrasions... Indeed, as you know though, I was quite battered by the would-be assailants. I am cleared to leave the medical ward, though. So...it would be nice, I suppose to get some fresh air.

I trust that if you have been cleared to leave, it means you can walk, yes? I am presently in the process of getting ready. Do let me know if anything that may have been supplied to you is inadequate, and I will provide something better. Anything from crutches to toiletries to - why not? - books, obviously.

Just a cane. I can walk well enough, my left leg was greenstick fractured but it's since recovered enough not to need fear worsening. I've been cleared to return to light duty in the research labs by the physicians, but since the experiment went well I think all I really have to do is compile the results and prepare for the redesign for the final production.

Ah, but enough about me. You've visited frequently, but have you really been keeping well? Has Dist been busy? He only came by once or twice, I believe he might be a bit wary of me. Not without reason, I confessed to him that which I had in you. It seems he stood on the opposite end of the chasm, not willing to see the world burn but angry at what it had become. I should quite like to talk to him, as well.

Unfortunately, it appears not. I was not one of the mutated but I did oversee some research unto the mutations. The theory is sound, but the rough nature of the project left much room for refining.

Perhaps it is presumptuous of me, however I was involved in a side-project and had been observing the outbreak from several outlets to collect data. Given that I cannot recall seeing any information about you, and that you have been involved heavily in research as I have, I believed you absent from the voluntary and involuntary sides of the research project.

My apologies either way. And...something planned? Dare I ask?
